This party was extra special for so many reasons. It wasn’t just a celebration for my own birthday boy who adores Sesame Street but also our first official event as Little Raleigh Party! When my little one declared his love for Sesame Street, I knew we could bring his favorite characters to life while giving the theme a fresh, elevated twist. Bold primary colors? Not for us! Instead, we worked with a softened color palette and custom illustrations to create a Sesame Street inspired birthday party that was as unique and playful as the birthday boy himself.
To bring our vision to life, we partnered with Draw it By Mel, who designed custom Sesame Street-inspired illustrations in a softened palette that complimented a design I had found on Zazzle (used for invitation, welcome sign and plates). From the moment I saw the Mel’s art, I knew this party would be unforgettable! Red Eye Designs printed the illustrations on vinyl and foam board, giving us stunning visual elements that set the tone for the event.
To keep the kids entertained, PlayFunParty brought their soft play and ball pit setup, ensuring endless fun for even our littlest guests. We also set up an art station where kids could paint their own Sesame Street-themed canvases. This creative activity doubled as a keepsake that they could take home.
Each place setting was thoughtfully designed to bring Sesame Street to life with a twist. Personalized plates from Zazzle were layered atop solid orange plates from Jollity & Co., complemented by simple blue napkins and wooden cutlery. Adding the perfect finishing touch, each child had their own place-setting street sign by Parker Grove Lane.
We wanted to send each guest home with something as sweet and thoughtful as the party itself. Favors included one of two Sesame Street books, Dream or Love, and customized sensory dough jars from Busy Bug Dough Shop. These fun and interactive gifts were a hit with kids and parents alike!
No Sesame Street party would be complete without delicious treats! We had a gorgeous cake and mini cupcakes from The Cupcake Shoppe. But, the real showstopper was our Cookie Monster cookie and ice cream bar. Guests loved creating ice cream-stuffed cookie sandwiches—a treat that felt as fun to eat as it was to make!
From the balloons in our softened color scheme to the final styling touches, this party was all about getting the details just right. It’s those little elements—like personalized plates, playful favors, and themed decor—that make a party unforgettable. This celebration was a true labor of love, and I couldn’t be prouder of how it came together for my little one. And yes, you’ll find me in a couple of photos perfecting the setup—because at Little Raleigh Party, it’s all about getting those details just right!
This Sesame Street-inspired party was the perfect way to kick off our journey as Little Raleigh Party. If you’re looking for a custom, one-of-a-kind celebration that reflects your child’s favorite things (and maybe even a fresh take on a classic theme!), I’d love to help bring your vision to life. Get in touch and let’s create a party full of laughter, joy, and unforgettable details!
