When it comes to birthday parties, Barbie knows how to do it best—so when we combined a Barbieland vibe with checkerboard chic, the result was nothing short of spectacular! This celebration for a Barbie-loving birthday girl was bursting with color, shimmer, and fun. From custom artwork to the most dazzling decor, this custom Barbie birthday party brought all the glam.

Where It All Began

The design inspiration for this party came from the playful Kailo Chic checkerboard plates. Their bright colors and bold pattern immediately reminded me of Malibu Barbie, and that’s where the magic started. To take things up a notch, we commissioned custom artwork that included a Barbie designed to resemble the birthday girl, a rainbow, a car, and a checkered bow that matched the plates. And because no Barbie party is complete without sparkle, we added disco balls—lots of disco balls! These elements truly made this party one-of-a-kind!

A Picture-Perfect Setup

This party was hosted in Curate Studios, a light and airy venue that was the perfect blank canvas for our bold, colorful theme. Its versatility made it easy to transform the space into a Barbie dreamland, proving that the right venue can make all the difference when bringing a party vision to life.

The decor at this party was next-level. Guests were welcomed by a balloon rainbow entrance to the Bubble Bounce. The backdrop was another standout, featuring vibrant balloons, life-sized cutouts of our custom artwork, and a dazzling display that tied the whole theme together. Each guest’s place setting included a custom acrylic keychain, and the birthday girl’s rainbow sign was the perfect finishing touch. The details made this event feel cohesive, personal, and oh-so-Barbie!

Fun for Everyone

The kids had an absolute blast with Sweet Bounce House’s Bubble Bounce and ball pit with slide, alongside a smaller 8×8 bounce house perfect for nonstop fun. A party highlight was Triangle Twirl’s 360 Photo Booth, where guests danced to “Pink” by Lizzo and instantly texted their videos to themselves. Watching everyone twirl, laugh, and groove to the music was such a joy—and exactly the kind of energy we wanted for this celebration!

Tea Party Treats and Sweets

For the little ones, we hosted a Barbie tea party complete with sparkling pink punch that matched the color scheme perfectly. For the grown-ups, a charcuterie board full of delicious bites ensured everyone was well-fed. To top it all off, we had beautifully designed custom cookies that carried the theme and a stunning ombré and pearl cake.
