Last holiday season, I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a gingerbread house decorating party that brought out the creative side of every little guest! Gingerbread houses are one of my favorite ways to combine festive fun with a touch of magic, and this event was nothing short of sweet perfection.
Building the Foundation
Before the party began, I took on the task of assembling each gingerbread house. Using royal icing (shoutout to the Queen of Gingerbread parties, @pizzazzerie, for her recipe and process!), I pre-built the houses to save time and ensure that every guest had a sturdy base to decorate. Inspired by Courtney’s methods, I put my own spin on the assembly process to make it work perfectly for our event. I used a hot glue gun to secure each piece of gingerbread to a small cardboard box and piped the royal icing prior to our event. The result was a lineup of adorable, ready-to-decorate gingerbread houses waiting to come to life with creativity!
The Sweetest Details
Once the little decorators arrived, it was time for the real fun to begin! Each child got their own gingerbread house to bring their vision to life. They had an assortment of treats and decor to choose from—everything from gumdrops and candy canes to colorful sprinkles and glittering snowflakes. Watching their little personalities come through in their creations was pure joy!
