Last year my first baby graduated Kindergarten. Where does the time go? I knew I wanted to celebrate her vibrant personality in a colorful way and I couldn’t be happier with how this smiley face graduation party turned out! All things bright, all things colorful, all things smiley- just like my little graduate!
We set the scene with brightly colored fringe, balloons (including smiley faces wearing grad caps), a pink backdrop designed with GRAD in a varsity font, and amazing marquee letters! Starting with a stunning backdrop like this one set the bold tone we desired for this event.
Can you even with how fun this tablescape is? I started with a hot pink base. I often use wrapping paper as the tablecloth at childern’s events. Wrapping paper is generally inexpensive and comes in a variety of colors and patterns. I can almost always find a solid or patterned roll to fit my party vibe. This one came from Hobby Lobby. Next came the multi-colored checkerboard table runner complimented by hooray plates from the same line.
Indeed our smiley face plates HAD to have acrylic graduation caps personalized with our graduates names! We added two holes on the cap. One for the tassel and the other for a ribbon so they could later be used as an ornament! Additionally, I used bright tumblers in lieu of traditional cups that the graduates could take home as a party favor. Regardless of how you feel about roses, you have to love the beauty of these. I am obsessed with how big and beautiful they were! I finished the place settings with a grad cap napkins and white cutlery. Finally, smiley face keychains were scattered like confetti to complete the look!
Of course every seat had a grad cap to match a gown on a nearby wooden rack. Both our grads and their parents loved the photo opportunity these provided.
Above all, a Kindergarten graduation party should be fun! The kids enjoyed the Four in a Row game table and a bouncing in the beautiful white bounce castle. Our little graduates enjoyed popsicles from the popsicle cart while parents could opt to enjoy their popsciles dipped in a glass of prosecco. At last, the cart would not have been complete without a custom acrylic sign and grad cap stir sticks!
Our caterer knows how to theme the food to any event you can imagine. Our little graduates enjoyed bite sized sandwiches, homemade cheddar crackers, mini tarts and more! They also enjoyed personal mini smiley face cakes that were just as delicious as they were cute.
As popular as the neutral aesthetic has been over the last decade, I really enjoyed the opportunity to design something this bold and fun!
