When a client told us about her family’s love for Italy and her daughter’s beautiful name, Sienna, I couldn’t wait to get started on this design! She was debating between this unique theme and a more trendy option, and I was thrilled she trusted us to bring Trattoria Sienna to life. Every little detail came together to create an Italian-inspired children’s birthday party that felt like a slice of Italy right here at home, and we couldn’t be more in love with the results!
The storefront backdrop by Grandeur Luxe Rentals was a true showstopper. From the live flower box to the charming streetlight and the perfectly styled awning, every element transported guests to a cozy Italian trattoria. And let’s not forget the red Vespa parked out front, ready for the birthday girl to hop on and make her grand entrance. It was a detail that had everyone talking (and snapping photos)!
One of the kids’ favorite activities was the custom sensory dough pizza-making station. Designed to look just like real pizza dough, the sensory dough was paired with red, white, and green dry pasta for a fun and interactive experience. One of our favorite details were the custom-engraved cutting boards at the station. Not only were they functional for the activity, but they also served as a keepsake for the family to remember this special day.
The bounce house and soft play area, beautifully decked out in balloons, were a highlight for the little ones. The client specifically requested a color palette that didn’t scream “Italian flag,” so we added black to balance the shades of red, green, and white. By making this adjustment, we created a look that was playful yet elegant—perfect for this one-of-a-kind celebration.
The Italian-inspired menu was a highlight for both kids and adults. We started with pizza from a local shop and a curated spread by Violet River Lane Catering. Guests enjoyed a beautiful charcuterie display, breadsticks served with white (alfredo), red (marinara), and green (pesto) sauces, Italian salad, baked pasta, and fried ravioli for the kids. Every bite felt like a trip to Italy!
We love sending guests home with something special, and for this party, the favors were both fun and functional. Each child received a red apron personalized with their first initial, perfect for their own pizza-making adventures at home. Not only were they practical for the pizza-making station, but they also served as a sweet reminder of a memorable day. The birthday girl’s mama wanted to personalize these herself and we think they turned out amazing!
This Italian-inspired children’s birthday party was a joy to design! It’s celebrations like these that remind us why we love what we do. If you’re dreaming of a party that’s as personal as it is magical, let’s chat! Whether it’s trendy, traditional, or something completely new—we’d love to help you make it a reality.
